Each year, the Middle TN Chapter of the Penn State Alumni association collects donations to award one or more unrestricted scholarships ($250 - $1,500) to deserving students from the Middle TN area. Scholarship monies come directly from local alumni, friends and supporters through online donations, the sale of products in our Nashville Penn Stater's store and donations collected at our football viewing parties. 

Scholarship candidates must be from the Middle TN area, a current/accepted Penn State student, and attend any physical Penn State Campus - sorry, the World Campus does not qualify.  Applications consist of a brief questionaire and 3 essay questions.  Local student lists are obtained from the university.  The chapter sends emails to all prospective students on those lists asking if they would be interested in applying.  Those that reply "yes" are emailed the application.  Any local student that does not receive an email should check their spam/promotions email folders or email nashvillepennstate@gmail.com directly.

The winner(s) are announced at our summer Student Send-off event.  In 2024, that event will be held on July 20th at 2pm at a location Jefferson's Restaurant, 214 Ward Circle in Brentwood, TN.  The winning student does not need to attend the event to win.  All members of the Nashville Nittany Nation are encouraged to come to the event and meet any local students who can attend.
